The short version
Stop Overthinking only collects the multiple-choice answers you tap through when you play a flow, plus the standard technical data any website sees (like your IP and basic analytics). We may share that data with third parties — for example our hosting and analytics providers. We don't sell personal profiles, and we don't ask you for your name or email to use the site.
1. What we collect
- Your multiple-choice answers. When you tap through a flow, we may record which options you picked so we can show verdicts and improve flows over time.
- Standard technical data. Things most sites collect — IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, and referrer — via server logs and privacy-respecting analytics.
- Local preferences. A small value in your browser's localStorage (key
stopoverthinking.legal.ack.v1) remembers that you've seen the first-session notice so we don't keep showing it.
We do not ask for your name, email, address, or payment info to use the site. If you email us, we'll obviously have your email address — but only because you sent it.
2. How we use it
- To show you a verdict for the flow you're playing.
- To understand which flows are popular and which are confusing, so we can improve them.
- To keep the site online and reasonably fast.
- To detect and prevent abuse.
3. Who we share it with
Your answer data and technical data may be shared with third parties, including:
- Hosting providers that run the servers the site lives on.
- Analytics providers that help us see what's working.
- Future partners. If we ever work with partners — for example to power new flows or features — your aggregated answers may be shared with them.
- Legal process. If we're required by law, subpoena, or valid legal request.
4. Cookies and local storage
We use basic cookies and browser localStorage to keep the site working and to remember non-sensitive preferences (like whether you've seen the first-session notice). We do not use this site to build advertising profiles.
5. Children under 13
Stop Overthinking is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect answers from them. If you believe a child has sent us data, email us and we'll delete it.
6. Your choices and rights
To ask a question about your data, request a copy of what we have, or ask us to delete it, email privacy@stopoverthinking.it.com. Because we don't require accounts, please tell us enough about when and how you used the site so we can find the right records.
You can also clear the localStorage value above at any time from your browser settings — that just resets the first-session notice.
7. International users
Stop Overthinking is operated from the United States. If you use the site from another country, your data may be processed and stored in the US, which may have different data-protection laws than your home country.
8. Changes
We'll refresh the "Last updated" date above when this policy changes. For material changes we'll surface a fresh notice the next time you visit.
